Vice President of Business Development & Digital Services
Chris Smith leads NewWave’s Digital Services practice and is responsible for growth across federal, state, and commercial market segments. As lead of NewWave’s digital services practice, Chris helps organizations develop digital transformation strategies for how to apply emerging digital technologies throughout their enterprise. He ensures that NewWave consistently delivers user-centered solutions across technology platforms. In addition to overseeing NewWave’s digital services practice and proposal operations department, Chris also establishes strategic accounts and partnerships in emerging markets.
He has 16 years of professional experience applying computer science and digital communications strategies to solve problems for federal, state, and commercial customers. Chris brings extensive technical capability and business development experience including capture and proposal leadership of multi-million dollar opportunities. Prior to joining NewWave, Chris spent 2 years independently working with digital service agencies in the Mid-Atlantic area to establish and develop strategies for growing federal and commercial business. Before that, he spent 12 years at Booz Allen Hamilton where he developed and led a $30 million digital software development practice focused on applying leading edge technologies to solve complex Federal Government customer challenges. Over his 16-year career, Chris has provided digital solutions to a wide variety of commercial and Federal Government customers including the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), the Departments of Health and Human Services (HHS), Treasury, Interior, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Department of Defense (DoD), the Intelligence Community (IC), Under Armour, Citi Bank, Hearst Media, 180s, and the PGA Tour.
Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from Loyola University in Maryland.
